Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Information and Communications Nguyen Minh Hong attended and delivered the opening speech. Representatives from the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representatives of some DICs, reporters and editors of some central and local press agencies also attended the conference.

 

In the opening speech, Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hong stated that actively international cooperation and integration is the strategic direction of the Party and the Government to construct and defend the country successfully. Recently, the agencies, ministries, departments, and localities have actively implemented many programs and tasks, have achieved many important results, have actively contributed and taken advantages from resources for sustainable development; improved people's living standard; maintained independence, sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity, consolidated the peace and stability; promoted and enhanced the position and prestige of Vietnam in the world.

 

From now to 2020, Vietnam has been taking on many international responsibilities, such as hosting the APEC 2017, being Chairman of ASEAN in 2020, nominating as non-permanent members of the UN Security Council 2020-2021, fulfilling major international commitments including commitments to join the World Trade Organization (WTO) in 2018, signing, ratifying and implementing many new free trade agreements at a larger scale.

 

Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hong expressed his wish that the conference would be an opportunity for reporters, editors, and officers of departments in charge of international integration activities to meet, to communicate directly, and to exchange information about mechanism of providing and sharing information with related agencies and ministries, that aims to enhance efficiency and improving the delivery of information, propaganda about international integration to the citizen of the country.

 

At the conference, representatives from Ministry of Information and Communications, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs presented to delegates these following topics: Introduction of Resolution 06 / NQ-TW of the Central Party Committee on the effective implementation of international economic integration, Resolution No. 38 / NQ-CP of the Government implementing Resolution 06; the information delivery mission and propaganda on international integration about labor and society, prominent diplomatic events of Vietnam in the near future.
