Resolution No. 19-2017/NQ-CP dated February 6^th, 2017 of the Government on continuously implementing the major tasks and solutions to improve the business environment, enhance the national competitive capability in 2017, with an orientation towards 2020; The Northern key economic region Development and Coordination Plan in the period of 2017 – 2020; Plan No. 74/KH-UBND dated March 30^th, 2017 of Hanoi People’s Committee on implementing the Resolution No. 19-2017/NQ-CP; Program No. 03-CTr/TU dated on June 28^th, 2016 of Hanoi Party Committee and Plan No. 171/KH-UBND dated on September 20^th, 2016 of  Hanoi People’s Committee on promoting economic restructuring, enhancing competitive capability, actively integrating in the international economy and achieving the Capital’srapid and sustainable economic development in the period 2016 - 2020,

On June 17^th, 2018, at the National Convention Center (No. 1 Thang Long Avenue, Nam TuLiem District, Hanoi), Hanoi People’s Committee organizes the Conference “ Hanoi 2018 - Investment and Development Cooperation” to meet the investors, enterprises, representatives of Embassies, Trade Counselors, Representatives Offices of foreign investors, Vietnam and International Associations and Organizations, to improve both domestic and foreign investment attraction by promoting the investment potential and opportunities of the Capital and other Provinces, Cities within the Northern key economic region, Red River Delta and Capital Region on the principle of harmonizing the interest, responsibility and equality.

The “Hanoi 2018 - Investment and Development Cooperation” Conference is also an opportunity to present the cohesion of Hanoi City Government, the leaders of other Provinces and Cities attending this Conference with the investors, enterprises as well as connected agents who introduce the investors and enterprises to the City.

The event is expected to draw the participation of more than 1.500 delegates, including the leaders of Government, Ministries, Central agencies and Hanoi City; the leaders of Provinces, Cities within the Northern key economic region, Red River Delta and Capital Region; and the representatives of diplomatic offices, international organizations, associations, enterprises, investors; local and international news agencies and press… Notably, the Conference also has the participation of hundreds of both domestic and foreign investors and enterprises, who proposed and presented their desire to invest in the projects in the City.

On the basis of the results of investment attraction and socio-economic development of Hanoi Capital in 2016, 2017 and up to June 2018; the results of the cooperation between Hanoi and other Provinces, Cities in the period 2016 - 2017; the introduction of  the key targets and list of projects calling for investment in the period 2018 - 2020 (of Hanoi City and other Provinces, Cities in the region), leaders of Ministries, Provinces, Cities and Enterprises will discuss and propose measures to attract investment in Hanoi area, cooperation projects and regional connections toenhance the leadership and cooperation role of Hanoi to other regions.

The Conference, will include the Ceremony of exchanging the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) of investment cooperation among Provinces, Cities and Ministries, Investors, Enterprises in areas such as: smart city construction, university education development, high-tech agriculture, health care, tourism, environment…; the Ceremony of awarding Decision of investment agreement, the Certificate of investment registration of main programs andprojects which are to promote the regional linkage and development; the Ceremony of rewarding domestic and foreign individuals, organizations and enterprises who have actively contributed to the socio-economic development of Hanoi and promote regional linkage and cooperation.

With the participation of leaders of Central agencies and Hanoi City; representatives of diplomatic offices, international organizations; especially Vietnamese and international investors, enterprises andbusiness associations, Hanoi, through the Conference “Hanoi 2018 – Investment and Development Cooperation”, will endeavor to leave a meaningful message on continuously creating investment environment in the way of convenience, transparency and in compliance with the international integration process; creating the most favorable condition for investors to do long-term business in the Capital as well as opening linkages with the Northern key economic regions, Red River Delta region and the Capital region.
